What happens to my subscription if my account is blocked?

Quick answer: Blocking an account cancels a subscription bought on the Jdate website automatically. If you subscribed through the App Store or Google Play, you need to cancel there yourself, because we cannot do it for you.

  • Website subscriptions are canceled automatically when the account is blocked.
  • Apple and Google subscriptions: cancel in your App Store or Google Play account.
  • You do not need to contact us to stop a website subscription.
  • Canceling does not refund a charge that has already been made.

If you subscribed on the Jdate website

When an account is blocked, any active subscription bought on our website is canceled. You will not be charged again, and you do not need to contact us to arrange it. You will receive an email confirming the renewal has been stopped.

If you subscribed through the App Store or Google Play

Those subscriptions are billed by Apple and Google, and we have no way to cancel them on your behalf. Being blocked on Jdate does not stop the charge, so you will need to cancel in your own Apple or Google account:

Refunds

Being blocked does not by itself make a past charge refundable, but you may have refund rights depending on where you live and when you subscribed. See What is Jdate's refund policy?.
